Strategic Collaboration in the Turkish Plastic Packaging Industry: CERTILOOP and SEPA Join Forces

Strategic Collaboration in the Turkish Plastic Packaging Sector: CERTILOOP and SEPA Join Forces

CERTILOOP, accredited by the European Union in the areas of recycled content, recyclability, and recycling facilities, has signed a strategic cooperation protocol with the Association of Rigid Plastic Packaging Manufacturers (SEPA). This collaboration will provide SEPA members with a solution that reduces international certification costs, enhances export capabilities, and aligns with the European Green Deal objectives.

CERTILOOP stands out as one of only two official programs worldwide that certifies the recycled plastic content of products exported from Türkiye and protects companies from additional taxes. Through this collaboration, SEPA members will benefit from special discounts on CERTILOOP’s EU-accredited certification services for recycled content, recyclability, recycling processes, and training programs.

Under the protocol, SEPA member companies will receive 10% off CERTILOOP certification services and 15% off training programs. At the end of the year, sector-based certification reports provided to SEPA will enable members to gain a significant competitive advantage in export markets with EU-compliant recycled content certificates.

“Our Greatest Goal is to Open Europe’s Doors for Turkish Exporters”

CERTILOOP CEO Yağmur Eroğlu commented on the collaboration:

“Our main goal is to open Europe’s doors to Turkish exporters and elevate production standards. We considered establishing our EU-accredited certification program a national mission and sincerely thank the Ministries of Trade, Industry, Foreign Affairs, and TURKAK for their support. Enabling Turkish manufacturers to produce at world-class standards and independently verify their environmental claims makes a major contribution to our country’s sustainability vision.”

Hakan Özhuy, SEPA President and CEO of Jokey Plastik, highlighted the impact of the protocol:

“This protocol represents a significant gain for SEPA members both environmentally and commercially. It is an important step that ensures our members remain competitive in the face of new tax regulations in European markets.”
